ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES LTD. recorded $70.8 million in net income during the fourth quarter, a 51.2% increase in profits over the same period in 2006. RCCL reported better than expected revenues, posting $1.5 billion for the fourth quarter, and pushing the company's full-year 2007 revenues to $6.1 billion, a 17% increase over 2006. Net income for 2007 was $603.4 million, a 4.8% decline. RCCL CEO Richard Fain said that despite pressures on consumer spending, yields for 2007 were consistent with the company's original expectations and grew .3% on a comparable basis, which he called "a testament to the strength and momentum of our products."
